Revival stories have always been my favorite <3
There’s something about the courage it takes to choose yourself.
The intention that is needed to heal.
The surrender of the natural man, while actively choosing the harder, yet more beneficial route.
I truly believe that struggling, fighting, and then conquering your quiet demons is the purest form of self love!
My favorite revival stories in scripture all involve surrender:
Peter in the New Testament.
Hagar in the Old Testament.
Alma the younger in the Book of Mormon.
Hyrum Smith in the Doctrine and Covenants.
…and my all time favorite THE Jesus Christ, who is spoken of and honored in each of the books above.
Each of these stories involve courage, intention, and surrender. None of them would’ve been possible without heaven’s help.
I have some of the coolest people in my personal life who have overcome some of the hardest ailments in mortality. Physical health, mental health, addiction , loss… you name it and I have watched first hand the weight that comes from these trials.
From watching others and also experiencing some of these myself… I have learned that there are two ways to look at the ailments of this life:
as a burden or an opportunity.
…and it’s in our moments of survival that we must choose which.
Not before, not after, but in the midst of our hard, we must choose our intention.
One of my favorite quotes of all time says:
“Consider how precious a soul must be, when both God and the devil are after it” -Charles Spurgeon
Can you IMAGINE the battle that happens when we are not confident in the direction that we are headed?? How easy it is to be convinced, when we don’t know ourselves?!
That is why we must choose:
the easier route of instant gratification that can be found everywhere, or the harder, more deliberate progression that will lead to eternity one day.
I have played both sides before.
I am very familiar with each.
And after my own struggles, burdens, and pains, I can confidently say that I choose the latter.
I choose eternity.
I choose my Savior.
There is nothing quite like the peace within the chaos that He brings.
The clear direction.
The enlightenment.
The companionship.
The safety.
The light,
and the love…
so. much. love!!
& patience lol.
…I never thought that to be a gift from God but it has been made very clear to me recently that it is <3
It is extremely easy to get lost in the crazy that this life is. I know I have forgetten many times that the point of this life is to grow! And change! And make mistakes! And struggle!… but also to be the best humans we can be, and forgive, and love, and try again every single day.
We werent made perfect intentionally… because how else are we supposed to progress and learn?
We can’t.
How beautiful of a gift that is.
Revival stories are my favorite, but that’s because of the journeys that are taken to come out on the other side.
No story, no hard, and no fight is exactly the same.
Each one of us goes through things that seem unimaginable to another.
That’s why we love- because we NEVER know the reality that someone else is facing.
One of my angels told me something the other day that has stuck with me ever since:
“Sometimes we need those shattering moments, because God can’t mend what isn’t broken”
So to those of you who are currently fighting - silently or loudly…
let Him in.
Let Him mend what has been broken.
Let His light & peace & love overcome you while you intentionally choose the good.
Remember what you are fighting for. Remember WHO you are fighting for.
And have confidence that one day… ONE DAY… you will be able to look back and see the beauty of the journey that you went on for your own revival.
And promise me something! Once you are there, never look back.
You are changed for a reason.
You went through that season for a reason! Move forward, and run with the beautiful opportunity of growth that your trial gave you.
Keep fighting.
Keep TRYING.
Let heaven help you.
Xoxo,
Lil <3
